This classic apartment is a superb example of the Art Deco elegance of1930s Melbourne with all original features still intact – the rich warmth of Jarrah floorboards, wonderful deco cornices and original hardware. Other than providing a perch for a substantial book collection, the living areas and bedrooms required only sand, polish and paint. The bathroom and kitchen, however, craved a little more love. Out with the tired 1980s and in with the timeless simplicity of slender rail cabinetry and blended hues of off-white, soft greys, sage green and the subtle beauty of marble-grain porcelain.
